Lunch Time and East Asia

Today we were going to an underground Korean restaurant but were really disappointed when we found out it was closed :(. But then I remembered that just around the corner an awesome (I mean AWESOME) Japanese restaurant was open and waiting for us. We spent a great cosmopolitan afternoon eating sushi and drinking sake.

We still want to try Korean food and drink some soju...

El día de hoy teníamos planeado visitar un restaurante Coreano un poco escondido pero al llegar ahí nos dimos cuenta de que el lugar estaba cerrado. Pero entonces en un momento de lucidez recordé que en la siguiente calle hay un increíble (Y quiero decir INCREÍBLE) restaurate japonés abierto y esperándonos. Pasamos un bonita y cosmopolita tarde comiendo sushi y bebiendo sake.

Life goes on... today I spent my day walking through the mall. I wasn't looking for nothing in particular however while I was in lingerie department I found the new millenium knickers :P Spanx. I think that by now must of us have heard about this miracle of couture. They are shaping and slimming garmets that enhance figure without showing off any bulges.

La vida continúa... hoy pasé el día caminando por el centro comercial. No estaba buscando nada en particular, sin embargo al pasar por el departamento de lencería encontré la ropa interior para el nuevo siglo :P Spanx. Creo que para este momento la mayoría de nosotras ha escuchado sobre este milagro de la costura. Son piezas que moldean y adelgazan la figura, pero aún más importante dan una apariencia suave y sin bultos sobre la ropa.

Pink Blush

I love March there' something annoyingly beautiful in a month when you can tell by the weather winter is gone but spring is not here yet. It's like waking up from a long, quiet night and slowly giving in and enjoying the morning light.

It's one of my favorite times to watch people, their faces and attitude reflects the change in the nature and of course this can be seen in the way they slowly give up their coats and star wearing colorful sandals paired with light fabrics. The enviroment is so inspiring the light, the color, the people, the smell of the soil!! Plain awesome... Hopefully you're enjoying it as much as I do.

In moments like this all I want is wearing flowers in my wavy hair taking of my shoes and walking through the grass. And to do so why not trying the new Coach Collection so full of pastel colors and youthful prints!

Me encanta Marzo hay algo terriblemente molesto en un mes en que se sabe que el invierno ha terminado pero la primavera no ha empezado aún. Es como despertar del letargo de una noche larga y callada y lentamente incorporarse a la luz de la mañana.

En esta época del año me encanta observar a la gente y como en sus rostros se puede se refleja el cambio de estación. Me parece inspirador como lentamente los abrigos van desapareciendo para dar lugar a coloridas sandalias y telas ligeras. El ambiente es maravilloso la luz, los colores, la gente el olor de la tierra!!! Espero que lo estén disfrutando tanto como yo ;)...

En momentos como este me gustaría adornar con todo tipo de flores mi cabello ondulado, quitarme los zapatos y caminar por el pasto. Y por alguna razón la nueva Colección de Coach parece estar en sintonía conmigo tan llena de colores pastel y estampados juveniles!! Perfetca para la primavera.

Already Missin You...

Yes, I'm still drowned in projects and homework as you read this I probably should be studying for a bunch of exams, however I couldn't go on without paying tribute to Mr. Fat who passed away this morning. My kitty was elevn years old and had been sick for the last couple of months... I can't stop thinking that I just lost a member of my family after so much time spent together.

Sí, aun estoy ahogada en tarea y de hecho en medio de exámenes pero no puedo continuar sin hacer un pequeño homenaje al Sr. Fat que falleció esta mañana. Mi gatito tenía once años y llevaba un par de meses enfermo... no puedo dejar de pensar que perdí a un miembro de mi familia despues de tanto tiempo juntos.

Today I'm posting and editorial that appeared in August's Vogue Paris. The editorial's theme is basically comparing the rumway look against the street style, I'm uploading half of the pics that show how pieces that may seem unwearable actually work off the runway.

Aquí les dejo un editorial que apareció en Vogue Paris/ Agosto 2008. Básicamente se encarga de contrastar el look de pasarela con el street wear, aquí les pongo la mitad práctica de como se llevan las tendencias en el mundo real y como piezas que difícilmente pensaríamos en usar funcionan.

I've finally decides to watch Gossip Girl looking for inspiration. I can't say I'm a fan, however it is quite interesting as for the style of the girls.

Finalmente decidí tomar el consejo de muchos de ustedes e inspirarme en Gossip Girl. No puedo decir que sea fanática de la serie, pero estoy empezando a interesarme en ella no tanto en cuanto a su contenido sino al increíble estilismo de las protagonistas.

Of course, Blair has definitely caught my attention, somehow she manages to have a classic yes funky style. I guess the contradictions are what interest me the most is that at the end we all struggle between the preppy Ivy League girls who would only wear Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent y the rather wild rock girl who would want everything in Balmain and DSquared.

De todas ellas la que más me intriga es Blair de alguna forma tiene un estilo clásico y a la vez funky. Una cosa que se ve casi complicada, pero funciona... snob pero relajado. Supongo que son precisamente las contradicciones las que me interesan tanto, finalmente todas existimos entre la mujer clásica y casi ejecutiva que solo quiere usar Chanel e Yves Saint Laurent y la chica más bien alocada que quiere toda la colección de Balmain y DSquared.

Lo más emocionante es que es posible ser ambas... a la vez !!

However, enough of that. Of Blair's style I would keep her feminine blouses, navy, her accessories (headbands, hats and flowers), her colorful tights and her school uniform style, and mostly... her ability mix colors.

Pero en fin, ya ha sido suficiente de eso. De su estilo me encantan sus blusas y el azul marino, obviamente su cabello y accesorios (diademas, sombreros, flores, etc.), sus medias y su estilo colegial (¿Cómo un uniforme puede ser todo menos aburrido?) y claro !! su sentido inequívoco de combinar colores.

Music + Autumm's Dilemma

I have so much to catch on! I've had some problems connecting to internet, so saldy I haven't been able to post as much as I would like. Last week I discovered an amazing girlwith the most wonderful voice, Ana Victoria hopefully you'll be able to listen to her music. She's totally amazing her new CD is awesome, you might want to listen to P.D. Te Amo.

¡Tengo muchas cosas que contar! He tenido algunos problemas con la red ... y muy tristemente no he podido actualizar el blog tanto como quisiera :(. La semana pasada descubrí a una chica conh una voz maravillosa Ana Victoria ojalá puedan escucharla!! Es la hija de Amanda Miguel y Diego Verdaguer y me encantó su nuevo disco me parece que el sencillo que esta sonando en México se llama P.D. Te Amo. ahí les dejo la súper recomendación.

In other interesting news, I've fully dedicating myself to shopping the autumm trends. Recently I've acquired all kinds of cute thights. This season is particularly good beacuse there is any kind of texture and pattern you want. However I've had too much trouble to mix and match them.

En otros temas he comprado toda clase de medias y he tenido algunos problemas para combinarlas. Esta temporada aparecieron de toda clase y de cualquier color y textura imaginables, para mi... es algo asi como el paraíso pero creo que mis neuronas se congelaron porque me ha costado mucho trabajo combinarlas.

I bought a pair of knee-high textured tights in deep purple and ivory also a pair of nude tights with polsa dots on them. The difficulty however isn't the outift at all but the shoes ( ISN'T IT ALWAYS ABOUT THE SHOES?) I don't wanna wear just boots through the whole season.I've seen some editorials featuring knee-high socks or tights with open shoes (Pretty much last's year Prada) Would you wear it ? How?

Compré un par de mini medias texturizadas color marfil y uva y unas medias completas "nude" con polka dots. Y lo que me ha causado conflicto no ha sido precisamente el outfit, sino los zapatos, no quiero verme como fotografía todo el otoño e invierno en botas. He visto en algunos editoriales medias o calcetines largos usados con zapatos abiertos (Ya sé, yo también tuve un deja vu con la colección de Prada del año pasado...) ¿Lo usarían? ¿Cómo?

Así que estoy buscando alternativas divertidas y algo funky para sacar el mayor provecho de esta temporada de frío y de mi extensa colección de medias.
