My voyeuristic vein gets triggered when I look at the amazing closet of Sea of Shoes' Jane Aldridge and I wonder... How would the perfect closet look like? I think it might look like something like these:

Even Betty (above) is wearing them... this might be a signal I need to try something new. I've allways thought sequins are a little too much over the top, however I'm up for trying some sparkle.

Free!!! ... At Last

I'm finally on vacation, starting today I'm free from school! During the past weeks I delivered hundreds of projects and essays andwent through final exams. However... I'm back for good and loving Madonna more than ever before. I went to her second concert in mexico City and I can only say she's amazing and one of my role models.

Por fin se terminó mi semestre. Las últimas dos semanas me parecieron eternas entregué cientos de proyectos e hice exámenes finales. De cualquier manera estoy de vuelta con más amor hacia Madonna en mi corazón, el domingo fui al segundo concierto y solo puedo decir que es una mujer increíble y uno de mis ídolos.

Another thing that excites me (Besides Christmas... which I love) is the new Thakoon collection for Target. The collection will hit the stores on Christmas Day!! and I'm already a little impatient for my New Year's shopping.

Otra de las cosas que me emociona (Además de que amo la Navidad) es la nueva colección de Thakoon para Target. La colección entrará en los almacenes el día de Navidad!! y yo al menos ya estoy algo impaciente por mis compras de año nuevo.

 

Yes, it's truly not the kind of clothes you would expect in the middle of the winter, but I don't mind shopping in advance.

Ciertamente un poco veraniego para el época del año, pero a mi no me molesta comprar por adelantado.

My bed and Mango

I'm soooo tired, as cruel as it is I had to go to school on Saturday and Sunday. I haven't slept enough and all I want to do is rest... I can't though, actually I'm already in school. Fortunately tomorrow I can take the day off and recover... probably I'll go to Mango to check out the new collection.

Estoy terriblemente cansada, por difícil que sea de creer (además de inhumano), tuve clases el sábado y el domingo. Definitivamente no he dormido lo suficiente y solo tengo ganas de descansar... pero no se puede, de hecho ya estoy en la escuela de nuevo. Afortunadamente, mañana no tengo clases y puedo recuperarme... y probablemente ir a buscar la nueva colección de Mango.

I've already know what I'm looking, for a blouse with metallic details for party nights, and who knows... I might find something remarkable too.

Ya tengo en la mira una blusa detalles metálicos para las noches locas y pues quizás me cruce con alguna maravilla.

Welcome to Scotland

I like plaid clothes, I do own a pair of t-shirts and blouses which are very casual. However I've realized that D&G's Fall 08 is all about plaid and tartan in virtually any piece of clothing. And I wonder... How successful will this trend be in the real world?

Particularmente a mi me gusta la ropa estampada en tartán. Tengo algunas camisas y playeras a cuadros y me parece que son muy casuales. Sin embargo me he dado cuenta de que la colección de Otoño/Invierno 08 de D&G tiene tartán en toda clase de prendas.Y me pregunto...¿Qué tanta aceptación puede tener está propuesta?

I obviously don't have an answer. A friend of mine was truly concerned about the impact this could have as to bring back the grunge look. I think that's an overreaction... though the trend has already been copied by high street retailers such as TopShop and Zara, hopefully it will be anything but catastrophic.

En este momento aun no tengo una respuesta. A una amiga mía le preocupaba que esto pudiera significar el inminenente regreso del grunge a las calles con camisas de franela a cuadros, botas toscas y pantalones flojos. Me parece algo exagerado, aunque ciertamente la tendencia ya esta siendo copiada por TopShop o Zara creo que será más enrriquecedor que catastrófico.

Of this collection I really like the prints and how they are mixing them. I hope there will be enough cold days in Mexico to play with colorful tights and coats.

Me parece muy rescatable y juguetona la superposición de estampados. Espero que haya suficientes dias frios en este país tropical para experimentar con las medias y los abrigos multicolor

Weekend Try-outs

Lately I've been lacking inspiration. I've been trying to find some trough Polyvore, looking for new ways of recreating myself. I haven't been that lucky yet though. Anyway this what I've done so far I hope it will get better as I practice and find a new source of inspiration.

Últimamente me he sentido poco inspirada, En la búsqueda nuevas formas de interpretarme a mi misma he estado jugando en Polyvore. Hasta ahora no he tenido mucha suerte. De cualquier manera esto es lo que tengo hasta ahora, espero mejore conforme practico y busco una nueva inspiración.

Hoy quisiera ser ...

Estoy buscando desesperadamente un poco de inspiración. Hoy quisiera ser Anita Pallenberg, la musa de los Stones, usar botas negras hasta la rodilla y llenarme de los excesos del Rock & Roll de los 60's y 70's.  Quisiera hacer combinaciones excéntricas y llenas de vida. Quisiera más creatividad ... solo un poco de juerga, ojos ahumados y cabello revuelto pero sexy ... ¿Es mucho pedir?

Algo de glamour escondido entre mucha máscara de pestañas y toneladas de sombra negra, botines violentos, mini-vestidos y medias tupidas para caminar toda la madrugada entre la niebla y el frío. Quiero caminar en la delgada línea entre la inocencia y la desfachatez. Hoy, quiero hacer muchas cosas ... ¿será mucho pedir?

Today I want to be just like Anita Pallenberg, the Rolling Stone's muse. I want to party wearing knee-high boots, smokey-eyes and messy sexy hair. I want to be eccentric and be creative and almost excesive. Am I asking for too much?

I want to wear black tights, lots of mascara and black shadow  to walk the city on through the night and live dangerously.

High Street and Calvin Klein

It's a shame that the Swedish label H&M hasn't arrived yet to Latin America. Since the first time I went into one of their stores I was charmed by the clothes. Later, their collaborations with designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf and Roberto Cavalli showed the label's commitment to take high fashion to the masses.

Me parece una lástima que la firma sueca H&M aún no llegue a América Latina. Desde la primera vez que entré en contacto con ella en 2004 me fascinó. Después con sus colaboraciones con diseñadores como Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf y Roberto Cavalli sentaron precedentes y dejaron en claro su misión de llevar la moda al alcance de un mayor público.

As for today, they already have a place in the high street movement. The reason I'm talking about H&M today is an unusual discovery. While I was surfing "Vogue's 10 Best Dressed of the Week" (style.com) I found an intruder between the Versace and Valentino dresses, this is Cecilia Dean in H&M just arriving in the seventh place of the list.

Me parece que hoy ya tienen un lugar en la high street. La razón por la que hoy me he dedicado a hablar de H&M es algo absolutamente inusual que encontré en la página de Vogue (style.com). Cualquiera que haya visto alguna vez la lista de las diez mejores vestidas de la semana sabe, que por lo general son foto de fiestas y vestidos largos o de cocktail (Versace, Valentino, etc.) lo que llamó mi atención de la lista de esta semana es Cecilia Dean en H&M en el séptimo lugar de la lista.

Por otra parte, me parece increíble que al comercial de la nueva fragancia de Calvin Klein, "Secret Obsession" le hayan negado la posibilidad de ser transmitido en la televisión de Estados Unidos. La razón: La actriz Eva Mendes muestra más de lo que el gobierno de ese país considera apropiado.

In other subject, it's difficult to believe that American TV refused to air the new ad for Calvin Klein's new frangance, "Secret Obsession". The reason; the actress Eva Mendes shows a little too much for what these people consider appropiate.
